Overview
Tbilisi is No. 94 in Euromonitor International's Top 100 City Destinations Index 2025. Georgia's capital stretches along the Mtkvari River between steep hills in the South Caucasus.
Its Old Town mixes churches, domed sulphur baths and wooden balconies with modern architecture, and the city is a great place to discover Georgian wine, made in clay qvevri, and dishes such as khachapuri and khinkali.
Best time to go
May, June, September and October are warm and pleasant; autumn is the grape harvest season.
July and August are hot. Winters are fairly mild, with occasional snow.
