Overview
Cayman Crystal Caves is No. 5 in Tripadvisor's Travelers' Choice Best of the Best 2026 ranking of the top attractions in the world. The caves lie beneath tropical forest at Old Man Bay on the north side of Grand Cayman. Grand Cayman is the largest of the three Cayman Islands, a British Overseas Territory in the western Caribbean.
You can only visit on a guided tour. Guides lead small groups along forest trails and into several caves, pointing out stalactites, stalagmites, crystal formations and wildlife such as the bats that roost inside. One of the caves holds a clear underground lake.
Best time to visit
Tours run all year. Grand Cayman's drier, busier season is roughly December to April. June to November is hurricane season, with the highest risk from August to October. Wear comfortable shoes with good grip and bring insect repellent.

The caves are on the island's north side, a drive of roughly 40 to 50 minutes from George Town and Seven Mile Beach. Most visitors arrive by rental car or taxi or on an organised tour.
