Overview

The Little Museum of Dublin is No. 13 in Tripadvisor's Travelers' Choice Best of the Best 2026 ranking of the top attractions in the world. It opened in 2011 in a Georgian townhouse at 15 St Stephen's Green, and its collection was built largely from objects donated by the people of Dublin.

Short guided tours use the collection to tell the story of the city in the 20th century, from the 1916 Rising and independence to politics, music and everyday life. The museum is known for its lively, humorous storytelling.

Best time to visit

Open all year. Book a tour time in advance in summer and at weekends, when tours often fill up.
