Overview

The Albertina is No. 74 in The Art Newspaper's survey of the world's most visited art museums, with 1,037,347 visitors in 2025 (a figure that covers more than one building), down 3% on 2024. Its main building is a former Habsburg palace on the Augustinian Bastion, next to the Vienna State Opera; it also runs Albertina Modern at the Künstlerhaus.

It holds one of the world's largest collections of prints and drawings, with works by Albrecht Dürer, and shows modern art from the Batliner collection alongside major temporary exhibitions.
