Overview

Victoria Falls, or Mosi-oa-Tunya, is about 1.7 km wide and up to about 108 m high, one of the largest curtains of falling water in the world. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site shared by Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The falls can be seen from both sides: the towns of Livingstone (Zambia) and Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) are the bases. A KAZA UniVisa covers both countries for eligible nationalities; check the current rules.

Best time to visit

The flow is highest from about February to May, with huge spray; views are clearer from about June to August. Late in the dry season (around October to November) parts of the Zambian side can be nearly dry.
