Overview
The Tian Tan Buddha, completed in 1993, is a large seated bronze Buddha on Ngong Ping plateau on Lantau Island. It is reached by climbing about 270 steps.
Nearby are Po Lin Monastery, a walking trail with wooden pillars, and the Ngong Ping 360 cable car, which gives views of the island and the sea.

Best time to visit
October to December is drier and clearer. The cable car can be suspended in bad weather or for maintenance.
