Overview
GES-2 House of Culture is No. 83 in The Art Newspaper's survey of the world's most visited art museums, with 909,498 visitors in 2025, down 9% on 2024. It opened in 2021 in a former power station on the Bolotnaya Embankment, across the river from central Moscow.
The architect Renzo Piano converted the early-20th-century building into an open 'house of culture' with a glass-roofed central hall, exhibition spaces, a library, workshops, a cinema and cafés.
